Star Wars Fan!! Star Wars Rebels S2 starting soon!

The highly anticipated Star Wars Rebels season two is set to premiere on SATURDAY, October 3 at 8am on Disney XD (Astro Ch 617) and 11am on Disney Channel (Astro Ch 615). The season will kick-off with a special one-hour movie event "StarWars Rebels: The Siege of Lothal".

Following the one-hour movie event, the season will continue to roll out new episodes from 24 October 2015. This exciting new season is filled with more thrilling adventures with the Rebels that will include appearances by fan-favorite characters Darth Vader, Ahsoka Tano, Captain Rex, Wolffe and Gregor.

Meantime, let me get you some Fun Facts!

1. The Star Wars Rebels series is set between the events of Star Wars Episodes III “Revenge of The Sith” and Star Wars Episodes IV “A New Hope” during a dark time when the evil Galactic Empire is trying to take back control of the galaxy. Rebels take place five years before “A New Hope.” And fourteen years after “Revenge of The Sith”

2. Character names have purposeful meanings
  • For Ezra Bridger, “Ezra” means “helper” and the intention around “Bridger” was that the character is a bridge between the prequel trilogy and the original trilogy — there is a bridging of topics.
  • Kanan Jarrus’ name came from a road in Malibu called Kanan Dume Road. In various traditions, Kanan also means “friend” or “guide” which fits very well with his character.
  • Hera Syndulla’s name came from the ancient Greek goddess “Hera” whose name means “protector.” As the wife and sister of Zeus, she was the goddess of women, childbirth, and marriage.
3. Voice recording was done with the entire cast in one place for every episode. For animated series, cast members usually come to the studio to record their voices individually - sometimes never even meeting the other cast members.

4. The voice of Darth Vader in Star Wars Rebels is by James Earl Jones who also voiced Vader in the original Star Wars trilogy.

5. Garazeb Orrelios (Zeb) is actually a character that came from an unused Chewbacca sketch drawn by the late Ralph McQuarrie when they were trying to figure out what to make Chewbacca look like in ‘Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope’.

My Favourite Character in Star Wars!
