Merdeka with 1Malaysia

Before I going to write anything, I wish to share this piece of personal comments from the Star Online today..

Monday August 31, 2009

We have been living together for 52 years

EVERY DAY, there is sure to be at least one news article about racism – be it to “remind” the nation to live in harmony, or a report about disrespectful behaviour towards another religion.

We, the ordinary rakyat, live just fine together, whether as neighbours or as house mates living under the same roof. We don’t need such “reminders” to make us realise that we don’t belong to one race.

It goes to show how much (or little) faith you have in us. Let’s face it – most of the racial commotions spark from the doings of politicians.

Because these people have the power to speak, they have the power to build or destroy. We, the rakyat can only watch the “drama”.

I share my pride for Malaysia with citizens from around the world. And most of the time, I talk about food, because then, I won’t feel like I’m lying.

I can’t bring myself to talk about how so many different races are living together peacefully (even if it’s true for the ordinary rakyat) when bits and pieces from the media suggest otherwise.

We, the rakyat don’t ask for much. We just want you to develop our country. Leave the living-with-other-religion thing to us because we were born with that in our blood.

Just to remind you, we have been living together since 52 years ago.

Toowong, Australia.

When I read this at 7.11pm today, I was so totally agree with it.. and yes, we do not need to be told to live in harmony.. those that is not, are being ‘created’ by the one who does not want us to live in harmony!!!

Now, tell me all my dear friends..

1)  How many of you DO NOT have other races in your neighbourhood??

2)  How many of you DO NOT have other races in your work place?

3)  How many of you DO NOT have the same skin colour in your school?

Frankly, I enjoy those days I stay with my Malay neighbours, Indian belakang rumah, and of course, during those festive season, is the best.. coz we have a chance to taste all kind of food… muahhaa…

FYI, in my family, we used to have the Malay cooking on the first day of CNY.. food such as lemak chili padi & mutton rendang is served… we even have nasi lemak too!

and YES, we have been living like this for the last 52 years, and please do not stir up the unnecessary stuff and use it as your propaganda!!!

Happy Birthday Malaysia!

Near the Institute of Mental Health

One truck driver was doing his usual delivery to IMH (Institute of mental health).

He discovered a flat tyre when he was about to go home. He jacked up the truck and took the flat tyre down.

When he was about to fix the spare tyre, he accidentally dropped all the bolts into the drain.. As he can't fish the bolts out, he started to panic.

One patient happened to walk past and asked the driver what happened.

The driver thought to himself, since there's nothing much he can do; he told the patient the whole incident.

The patient laughed at him & said "can't even fix such a simple problem.... no wonder you are destined to be a truck driver..."

Here's what you can do, take one bolt each from the other 3 tyres and fix it onto this tyre. Then drive to the nearest workshop and replace the missing ones, easy as that" The driver was very impressed and asked "You're so smart but why are you here at the IMH?"

Patient replied: "Hello, I stay here because I'm crazy....... not STUPID!"

P/S: Is there a place for those label *stupid*… muahaha..

Morale of the Stories.. more of jokes..

5 minute - Management Course

Lesson 1:
A man is getting into the shower just as his wife is finishing up her shower, when the doorbell rings.

The wife quickly wraps herself in a towel and runs downstairs.
When she opens the door, there stands Bob, the next-door neighbour.

Before she says a word, Bob says, 'I'll give you $800to drop that towel.'

After thinking for a moment, the woman drops her towel and stands naked in front of Bob, after a few seconds, Bob hands her $800 and leaves.

The woman wraps back up in the towel and goes back upstairs.
When she gets to the bathroom, her husband asks, 'Who was that?'

'It was Bob the next door neighbour,' she replies.

'Great,' the husband says, 'did he say anything about the $800 he owes me?'

Moral of the story:

If you share critical information pertaining to credit and risk with your shareholders in time, you may be in a position to prevent avoidable exposure.

Lesson 2:
A priest offered a Nun a lift. She got in and crossed her legs, forcing her gown to reveal a leg. The priest nearly had an accident.

After controlling the car, he stealthily slid his hand up her leg..
The nun said, 'Father, remember Psalm 129?'

The priest removed his hand. But, changing gears, he let his hand slide up her leg again.

The nun once again said, 'Father, remember Psalm 129?'

The priest apologized 'Sorry sister but the flesh is weak.'

Arriving at the convent, the nun sighed heavily and went on her way.

On his arrival at the church, the priest rushed to look up Psalm 129. It said, 'Go forth and seek, further up, you will find glory.'

Moral of the story:
If you are not well informed in your job, you might miss a great opportunity.

Lesson 3:
A sales rep, an administration clerk, and the manager are walking to lunch when they find an antique oil lamp.

They rub it and a Genie comes out.

The Genie says, 'I'll give each of you just one wish.'

'Me first! Me first!' says the admin clerk. 'I want to be in the Bahamas, driving a speedboat, without a care in the world.'
Puff! She's gone.

'Me next! Me next!' says the sales rep. 'I want to be in Hawaii , relaxing on the beach with my personal masseuse, an endless supply of Pina Coladas and the love of my life.'

Puff! He's gone.

'OK, you're up,' the Genie says to the manager.

The manager says, 'I want those two back in the office after lunch.'

Moral of the story:
Always let your boss have the first say.

Lesson 4
An eagle was sitting on a tree resting, doing nothing.
A small rabbit saw the eagle and asked him,'Can I also sit like you and do nothing?'
The eagle answered: 'Sure, why not.'
So, the rabbit sat on the ground below the eagle and rested. All of a sudden, a fox appeared, jumped on the rabbit and ate it.

Moral of the story:
To be sitting and doing nothing, you must be sitting very, very high up.

Lesson 5
A person was chatting with a bull.
'I would love to be able to get to the top of that tree' sighed the person, 'but I haven't got the energy.'
'Well, why don't you nibble on some of my droppings?' replied the bull. They're packed with nutrients.'
The person pecked at a lump of dung, and found it actually gave him enough strength to reach the lowest branch of the tree.
The next day, after eating some more dung, he reached the second branch.
Finally after a fourth night, the person was proudly perched at the top of the tree..
He was promptly spotted by a farmer, who shot him out of the tree.

Moral of the story:
Bull Shit might get you to the top, but it won't keep you there..

Lesson 6
A little bird was flying south for the winter. It was so cold the bird froze and fell to the ground into a large field.
While he was lying there, a cow came by and dropped some dung on him.
As the frozen bird lay there in the pile of cow dung, he began to realize how warm he was.
The dung was actually thawing him out!
He lays there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy.
A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to investigate.
Following the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile of cow dung, and promptly dug him out and ate him.

Morals of the story:
(1) Not everyone who shits on you is your enemy.
(2) Not everyone who gets you out of shit is your
(3) And when you're in deep shit, it's best to keep
your mouth shut!

Happy Weekend ya..

Blogging Experience

I am a reader of Eugene’s blog, and in this post he wrote on his blogging experience.. and inviting everyone to share theirs too..

1)  How did you start blogging, what was your one driving factor?

I started blogging, when I was sitting at home, taking care of my little Princess, and just wanted to jolt down all her growth development.  Then later, I have another blog for myself, which for me to note my journey of life and activities.

2)  What was your happiest blogging experience?

When I see my visitor counter change every time I read my blog.

3)  What was your most frustrating blogging experience?

After I did my post, and I can upload it to the blog.. applies the same as my photos too!

4)  Have you made any good friends out of your blogging friends who were previously not your friends?

Yes, I do.. I had got  lots of new friends when I started blogging.

5)  What was the rudest comment you ever received?

So far, none of my readers has done that.. and I am lucky to get nice readers…

6)  Have you thought of giving up blogging?

Not at the moment, since I just started it not long ago.. and I hope I could continue doing it..

7)  Do you consider yourself a blog junkie?

My blog contains my rant, my jokes, my everything.. so, yes.. it’s a junk blog where I dump all my stuff here.. but I love it!

8)  What is just one thing pleasant you wish could happen to your blog?

My blog will automatically give me an idea what to write.. heheh..

9)  If i say blogging is more about passion rather than commission($$$$),do you agree?

Maybe I do not blog for commission, therefore it’s more passion than commission, and I think this applies to everyone who blog, since if one don’t have the passion, one may not find the ‘skill’ to blog for commission too.

10)  Please recommend to us 2 bloggers' blog which you feel that we should not miss..

I think everyone in my blog roll are blogs that you should not miss.. and I hope everyone enjoys reading it.

How about you?  Feel free to share yours, if you would like to do this.. and you can have this as a post if you fall into ‘blog blank’… hehehe… enjoy..

Meeting up with blogger friend

I had my first ever experience of meeting a blogger friend.. she is one of the very first visitors to my blog, and has been very encouraging throughout the journey of me being in this situation..

and she is Rachel.. Philip B’s mummy…

Rachel is very supportive to order the dragon fruit ping pei mooncake from me, and since I am in USJ last night, I delivered the mooncake to her.. was suppose to do that on Friday (so sorry for the delay, Rachel)

Even though it’s a very short meet up, like about 5 minutes chat.. I am happy to meet her in person.. and I hope she and Philip enjoy the mooncake, and able to give me some feedback.

I wish I could have longer time, coz I am rushing for dinner, and meet Philip too in person.. Next time… hopefully I can..

Baking Weekend

Another attempt since I have attended a class, and this time, it’s the practise time again..

I got my twin cousins birthday today, and mum ask whether I could bake a cake instead of buying one.. I said OK (in my heart, that’s provided Princess is not going to be lao kai)…

So, I started to bake after getting Princess bath, and put her in the cradle, and that’s about 9.30am.. And first, I melted my chocolate, so I can do the chocolate pieces which need to decorate the side of the cake..

Then, will be weighing all the necessary ingredients.. and while doing this, I am thinking if I should get a digital weighing scale, coz it’s difficult to weight things that is not much with the current scale I have.. *should I, or should I not*… or wait for my birthday in November, and get someone to buy for me as a gift.. muahaha…

Then, is mixing the cake and put in the oven to bake.. a good 50 minutes baking in the microwave.. at 170C.

Once the cake ready.. let it cool down, while I clean up the first batch of mess… all the utensils, bowl, mixer bowl, spatula and blah blah blah… Just nice, Princess woke up.. and this all take me approximately about 2 hours

Attend to Princess, change her.. and sui, my brother balik.. Get Princess to sit with kao fu for a while, when I go in to the room again for the 2nd step.. decoration…

So, all ready, chocolate toppings, chocolate pieces (in long and round shape) and guess what, I didn’t have the white chocolate!!  SMS mum, but she didn’t receive it.. she got home, I ask her to go and buy before entering the house.. *thanks mummy*

OK.. start work.. doing the deco half way, mum came back with the white chocolate.. hurray.. melt it first, then use later.. while meantime, I just continue to smooth my cake…

ding dong ding dong… mum standing there carrying Princess.. stress!

End products…

DSC00471DSC00470Mum ask why I kiasu, buy such a big base… ya lor, I worry I smear ma…

DSC00472Ok la.. put the side also lor.. so, it won’t look too big base..

For me, I quite happy liao.. even I know there will be lots more of space for improvements… and maybe tomorrow do one just for the house to eat… hehhee…

Can you make your partner sad & happy at the same time

A man and his wife were watching a TV program on Psychology, when the man turned to his wife and said, "I bet you can't tell me something that will make me happy and sad at the same time."

She answered, "You've got the biggest penis of all your friends."

My ever first video editing

If you stumble on my Princess blog, you will noticed the recent video on her solid intake.. I am proud.. from an idiot of not knowing anything, I just go around doing it..

If you look at my Facebook, the video actually come in 2 part.  My intention was just to rotate the video from landscape to portrait or else those viewing it, will have to tilt the head.

I started to browse around for ‘video editing software’ and came across the Windows Movie Maker (WMM).. and later I check through my programs, I do have this install when I buy the genuine Windows (hurray)…

But too early to be happy.. while I start browsing how to do the stuff, I manage to rotate the frame of the video but I can’t save it!!  Gosh, can you imagine how much frustration I have (I did this from 2pm till like 11pm excluding the time I spent with Princess and all, at least good few hours)

Then, I googled again for the reason, and it seems that the file may not be compatible (I using mobile phone to take videos) and sei for la, how ah?  Ok, another google again, and this time round, find another video editing program (cheap poh neh neh like me, sure google for those free downloads)

I downloaded VideoSpin by Pinnacle, and try to do the conversion.. se beh mafan, but never mind, I just want to try it out.. and da dah.. I manage to get it done.. now the video from my mobile is under the AVI format.  I combine the 2 videos together, then happily thought can rotate, aiyo.. cannot wor.. sei la, one can do one thing but not the others…

Ok la, since already ‘sai sup’ the feet liao, just do what I can la.. So, I use the video combination by VideoSpin (in AVI mode) and then use WMM to rotate and save it again..

Cool la this thing, will have to do it more often… come come Princess, mummy take more video now than photos… muahaha.. :)

I don’t have the ‘artistic’ nerve in my body

I always find it difficult to do Art or Craft.. I will be the ever last person to hand up my drawings since Primary School.. I just don’t like anything to do with art!

My god-ma used to say, my body don’t consist the artistic nerve and therefore I will always not interested in that.. Whatever any craft work, I will do it there and then, and not wanting to bring home, or else it end up not being touch and not even pass up.

I am telling everyone here.. what is the worse marks you ever get in Art during schooldays? guess you can’t beat me.. I got a –3 for once in Form 1! “reason being: my exam marks were deducted for all the homework that I did not bother to pass up, and with that mere marks get in exam (no choice but got to sit for exams right), it’s just not enough for the deduction (and please do your own calculation how many art / craft work I didn’t passed up)” muahaha….

Recently when I started to do blogging, I like all those beautiful thing that happen.. nice layout, nice colour, nice this and nice that.. but me, sei for lor, ask me to decorate, I sure die!

and being a mother (even my Princess is only 6 months old), I better bucked up right… So, I come across Merryn’s craft blog.. the first impression, so easy de meh do craft work… she uses most of the time her little boy, Ethan’s hand to do the craft work (and you can see the fun Ethan is having).

I will surely look forward to have story telling time with Princess, when I am able to do this craft works by myself.. muahaha… and 1 of the sample story…

image One day, Princess decided to take a walk in the backyard, and she sees lots of butterflies and bees…

image and she caught an egg hatching from the hen’s nest

image and she found the little chick saying hi to her…

imageIt gave a shock to Princess, and she ran with her whole heart back to the house

imageAnd watch her Mary Had A Little Lamb nursery rhyme video

All the above pictures are capture from Merryn's Craft Blog

My ‘ugly’ Chocolate Ice Cream Mooncake!

I had a chance to try out this yesterday.. and guess what.. it’s not easy!!

I now understand what make Haagen Darz selling their mooncake so expensive, coz it’s super tedious work to do.. and I am not going to do this for this year, since it’s need lots of attention, and my little Princess will not allow me the time.  Last night was really struggling to get it done..

I didn’t got time to snap photos of the process, and only got those finish products which were super ‘ugly’ and I am just glad is taste good.. muahaha…

The chocolate skin was not coated nicely, therefore when I took it out from the mould, it became all over!!  But now I know what’s wrong, so next time (when I really got the time) I will do it again…

Now, lets share the photos.. please please don’t go eeeeee…

My Baking

I attended a class last Friday, and I have the following skill improvise.  All this while, my cake decorations are from observations and from some videos but I have not attended any classes.

Since recently I am into much of baking, I decided to attend this class to polish up my skill and clear some doubts that I have in my mind.. and I am glad all my doubts are cleared now, and I hope to improve on my cake decorating skill more.

I always envy those that can really do a great deco for their cakes, and as one of the student said, even how awful the cake may taste, if the deco is good, it makes someone saliva drooling still.

And these are the 2 cakes I did that day…

American Chocolate Cake

So, what do you think?

Ping Pei moon cake

I made the first batch of Ping Pei Mooncake with split mung beans fillings.  I normally like to make mini Ping Pei mooncake as I find it easier to eat since Ping Pei is very sweet on both the skin and fillings.

Another reason that I prefer home made mooncake, as I can adjust the ‘sugar’ content myself, and not going to be too sweet to be eaten.

I put some natural colouring too.. adding the dragon fruit in the skin.  This will have the red colouring without having to use any of the artificial colouring.

Now, let me share some photos…

Perfect Husband – Must read if you want to be one…

Several men are in the changing room of a golf club.  A mobile phone on a bench rings and a man engages the hands free speaker-function and began to talk. Everyone else in the room stops to listen.

MAN: "Hello"

WOMAN: "Darling, it's me. Are you at the club?"

MAN: "Yes"

WOMAN: "I am at the shopping centre and found this beautiful leather coat. It's only $10,000. Is it OK if I buy it?"

MAN: "Sure,..go ahead if you like it that much."

WOMAN: "I also stopped by the Mercedes dealership and saw the new 2009 models. I saw one I really liked."

MAN: "How much?"

WOMAN: "$ 40,00,000"

MAN: "OK, but for that price I want it with all the options."

WOMAN: "Great! Oh, and one more thing ..... The house I wanted last year is back on the market. They're asking $ 2,50,00,000"

MAN: "Well, then go ahead and give them an offer of $ 2,25,00,000. They will probably take it. If not, we can go for the extra amount. It really is a pretty good price."

WOMAN: "OK. I'll see you later! I love you so much!!"

MAN: "Bye! I love you, too."

The man hangs up. The other men in the changing room are staring at him in astonishment, mouths agape.....

He smiles and asks:

"Anyone knows who this mobile belongs to?"

P/S:  did you laugh?  Have a nice weekend…

Unconventional Methods To Prevent Influenza

I received this email from a friend in my Facebook.. and I just wanna share this here just in case you missed the newspaper reporting…

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 9 (Bernama) -- Avoiding masturbation and homosexual activities are among preventive measures one could take against Influenza A (H1N1), according to an eminent practitioner of complimentary therapy.

Dr. V. M. Palaniappan said that such activities caused the body to develop friction heat which in turn, produced acid and made the body hyperacidised.
"Thus, the body becomes an easy target for H1N1 infection," he told Bernama, emphasising however, that normal sexual union between members of the opposite sex was absolutely safe.

The former associate professor of ecology at Universiti Malaya has authored several books on complementary therapy called, 'Ecological Healing System'. Dr Palaniappan said his 33 years of research had shown that high acidity in the body resulted in loss of immunity, thus making people more susceptible to viral diseases like Influenza A (H1N1).

Hence, to prevent acidity, it was essential to consume alkaline food and drinks that could neutralise excess acid in the body.  Dr Palaniappan recommends coconut water, which is alkaline, and therefore could be used as a herbal medicine for the prevention of H1N1.

For example, he said, those who felt feverish and developed a burning sensation while attending to a call of nature because of extreme acidity, could neutralise it by drinking coconut water, twice a day, for three days.
He also recommended orange, lemon and pomelo which, despite containing citric acid, were very rich in potassium and therefore, would not disturb the body's immunity.

According to Dr Palaniappan, excessive physical activity like running a marathon should be avoided as it produced acid due to excessive metabolic activity.

Similarly, he said, keeping late nights without adequate sleep and working without proper rest could also increase the body's acidity which in turn, lowered immunity and made the body vulnerable to viral attacks.

Dr Palaniappan's blog: http://ecohealingsystem.blogspot.com/ discusses the therapy in more detail.

P/S:  I don’t know how true is this, but some of the friends think this is way too ridiculous.. how about you?

The Chicken that made to BOX

I got some chicken wings few days back, and actually thinking what to do with it.  Then, it strike my mind that I has not been making Boxing Chicken for some time… and here it goes…

DSC00412Use only the drummets of the wing, scrape down all the meat and form a boxing gloves at the edge

DSC00413 The drummets are done, but can’t take the ugly tips, so wrap it with some foil

I marinated the drummets with little of soy sauce, sugar, salt, pepper, sesame oil and some cooking wine for about an hour before frying.  When fry, just dip into some egg white and flour.

Unfortunately, the finish product is gone without having it being photographed!  So, this chicken is being ‘boxed’ without having it’s last portrait done…but as usual, the cook aka me is happy as it was gone within a breeze..

P/S:  But what do I do with the ‘rest’ of the wings?  it was again deep fry the KFC style next day..

Baking yet again.. and this time, with a new toy

My New Toy! A Kenwood K-mix Mixer

I now got to bake more… and with this, I can have lots more exciting baking adventures… I used to have a hand mixer only… My next batch of chocolate chips cookies will be much easier…

Now, I can let the mixer run by itself while I prepare for other stuff… shiok man… Thanks my mummy.. Breanna’s grandma… And I bake this cake using this new toy for the first time for my cousin Carmen’s 21st birthday!

The cake I bake…

DSC00405 DSC00404

This cake is the outcome.. and the taste of the cake bit sweet due to the icing I use.. and I will try to reduce the sugar level… overall, still nice to shove in the mouth la…hahaha….

My the other attempt doing my cheesecake fail jor.. coz the cheese is not harden enough and when I leave it in the freezer, it turn out to be like ice cream instead of a cheesecake.. this is the first time I fail my baking! *sob sob*

Oopps, I act bit faster…

Ok, I have got this post on 2 tagging activities going on.. and I pun happily doing it.. and guess what…

After blogging about it, I pun happily schedule the post for posting a day later… Nowadays, due to the ‘hectic’ schedule, I normally have some postings done and schedule it to be appear…

And I happily went around telling all my blogger friends that they got tag.. and of course, I am happy to know they rush here, but can’t find the tag post.. sorry… and Thousand Apologies…

Now you know why la.. I don’t do it on purpose eh… While I go around your blog, I pun copy the link and put it in my blog while I tag you, and I just gone worry due to the Post Mummy Symptom, I quickly tell those who kena tag at the same time, only realising the delay of the postings…

Sorry ah my dear friends… make you all ‘bak hang yat thong’…

Ok, I got to go back to my dragon fruit ping pei mooncake… :)

Stay tune for the photos ya..

Second Tag from Cindy

This time, I was tagged with childhood memories.. and it’s from another dear blogger, Cindy, and the tag goes…

This I believe is the best time in our lives, childhood. Our deepest concern only is how we’re going to finish our meal or what we’re going to play today. A middle of the night post

I woke up at 2.14am, realised I have 2 MSN message blinking, my half way done posting (which is now save as draft), and some unfinished chat… I also have my accounting system on and hanging there calling me…

Half way through of doing my MyLot, I decided to side track and to this post.. I have not done anything in such a middle of the night since I had my princess, but I hope this is not going to be a permanent change of way I do things at this kind of hour (although I feel more peaceful doing it now, since Princess is so sweet and deep sleeping next to me).  I admit I was not an ‘early’ person before I had princess, but after 12 months of training (7 months of pregnancy and 5 months of having princess) I think I need my beauty sleep more often…

Guess the time I hit the bed?  It was about 8.30pm, when I bring my little princess to the room for a wash up and change.  I then leave her on the bed, while I go on with my work.. Nowadays, my laptop has to be carried with me whenever I go since this lil princess of mine is asking lots more of attention.

I bought a bed tray from IKEA yesterday, so that I could have the laptop on the bed while keeping Princess accompany.  All thanks to the invention, or else how would I split myself into 2 ah? Anyone here with those ‘magic’ that could help?

and now by the time I finishing this post, the little clock on my laptop showing 2:58am, and I am trying to finish the other post, so you guys can enjoy a fair bit…

Ok… now, back to the post that I was halfway done..

Gift from Cath J

I was ranting about my month end with Adrian Low, but I am happy to receive a gift from Cath J, which make up my day.  I received this gift as a gesture of appreciation being one of the highest voters for one of the Princess contest.

It was received by my mum, and sitting on my work table.  When I open it, I saw this beautiful butterfly…

My Sprout Meal

I have many of those green peas in my fridge and I have no idea what to do with it.  They say having green peas are very “leong” as in cold, and will not be good to have it more often.

So, come out of it, I have it sprout and have some “taugeh” instead.. and look at my sprout

Oh, this tastes very sweet actually, all I need is just to give have it plain with some soya sauce & pepper.  I also keep some to do omelette.

Doing this is just so simple, soak the beans overnight, put some cotton wool at the bottom, and just leave it for a day or two, I get my sprout nicely out from the beans..
