Who's fault?

Before I go ahead and tell you a story, let me ask a few questions

1)  Are you an email user?
2)  How often do you clean up your sent item?
3)  How often do you clean up your inbox?
4)  Do you call to the recipient if you are sending an urgent email and there is no reply?

Now the story begins...

There was this requirement set since the beginning of a project, that all parties involved will be copied in all email correspondences to avoid further confuse and conflict.   A month ago, an supposedly urgent email was sent without any copies, just between the sender and recipient.   Then a month later, it was only brought up to the attention of the rest that this email was sent and ding dong for a month, however one side claimed sent, and the other side claimed not received!!!  *does it now sound familiar*?

Next, the client got involved.. asking for the evidence of sending of all emails (already from start mentioned to copy ALL parties right) and after a few emails from the client to 'rush' the sender to provide evidence of the 'sent' email, the sender suddenly reverted with a remark that the sent email cannot be located as the sent item box all cleaned every 2 days!!  So how?  can't find evidence of the mail sent, and the claim from the recipient that he did not received the mail may be correct, right?  Who should it be responsible for a loss mail which causes delay in work?

In addition, when check with sender if he has called the recipient on the email, and ensure that the party confirmed received of the email?  NO!!!!  There was no confirmation of email received!! HOW?  Now there was a delay caused by the loss mail (and for goodness sake, after 1 month)!!!!  The sender now cry foul that it should not be his responsibilities to provide the evidence!!  Then WHO?!!  and the sender claimed that the client is one-sided to the recipient but he forgot that if the sender has the evidence of the mail, it would be his WINNING case but very unfortunate, he brings his own fate to the drain

Well, in any circumstances, one should be responsible to 'alarm' should it's feel the unfairness!!  Anyway, there is no FAIR in the world, therefore you don't see everyone having the same work, same earning, same lifestyle!!  All one can do is just make sure you DO YOUR JOB right!  If you have already know it's unfair, should one keep all evidence to protect themselves?

If there is no evidence to put someone in guilt, then there will be no case on the 'suspect' and he or she will be acquainted!! Please be SMART in doing YOUR JOB and not push it everywhere like a TAI CHI master coz you never know when you meet a judge who only based on EVIDENCE of WORK as the judge had enough of all the hanky panky work that carried out!

It's very frustrating to deal with people like this, and I am one that has been taught some big lessons that keeping emails are damn IMPORTANT!!  Even my own emails are kept from the 1st mail from the provider till now!!!

POISE® Launches ‘IT HAPPENS TO ME’ Educational Campaign - Part 1

Kicking off from June 24 in conjunction with World Continence Week, “It Happens to Me” is the fourth consecutive campaign by Poise® to further educate and invite women to take a proactive stand on light urinary leakage (LUL). You may now ask what is LUL?

In summary, Light Urinary Leakage (LUL) is something faced by mostly women due to age, birth and menopause.  “The top three triggers of experiencing LUL were coughing, sneezing and laughing.

During the campaign launch, it has an important message to convey – that Malaysian women need not be shy about experiencing LUL as it is a common condition affecting 1 in 4 women at least once in their lifetime.  Secondly, the 2012 campaign is set to be more engaging with support from Poise® Ambassador Sharifah Shahira and new ambassador Raja Azura, and has greater visibility via an educational video series, mini booklet, consumer contests and a roving truck which will visit high-traffic areas.  Finally, women need to realize that there are meaningful solutions to manage LUL, one of which is using the correct products specially designed for the condition. Poise® is the first light urinary protection brand of products for women.

Core to this campaign are the educational videos available on the Poise Malaysia’s YouTube site: http://www.youtube.com/poisemalaysia and through a link from the brand’s fanpage at www.facebook.com/Poise.Malaysia.  These online resources combine input from the ambassadors and from women’s experts on LUL in response to the common concerns by Malaysian women experiencing the condition, thus, they are much more relatable and can be easily shared among a wider community to effectively spread the word about LUL management.

Cynful Pleasure Lunch

Remember I blog about me buying the lunch box?  Indeed I put it in a very practical use.  For a week of work, I have use this for at least 3 days.  Sometimes I just bring leftover for lunch, and sometimes I cook.  I further 'influence' another colleague to buy the same function lunch box (hers is slightly different in design) and we could do lunch together in the office.  Some of my office colleagues have been drooling on my self-prepared lunch.. hehe..

Today (should be 26/6), we are in the mood to do 'one pot rice'.  I bought a packet of rice in the office, and we planned to bring chicken, lap cheong and mushroom to the office the day before.  I have a packet of kailan at home too.  Therefore, today (26/6) our lunch was really 'complete' and fresh.  From the rice to the dishes...

Kailan with mushroom
One pot rice with chicken, Chinese sausage and mushroom

Since we now have 2 separate lunch boxes, I used the one from my colleague to cook rice (her inner pot is bigger) and mine for the veg.  We have plan for coming lunch menu each day, and our target is to spend not more than RM5 per person per day.  Frankly speaking, the above cost me much lesser than RM10.  I had better quality rice, fresh vegetables and also no MSG food.

So, anyone want to join me for lunch?  Come join me in the Company as we are looking for more staff now and we can do 'masak masak' together.

Our Daily Bread - Cornered

Pray for those who spitefully use you. —Luke 6:28
One Sunday morning, D. L. Moody entered a house in Chicago to escort some children to Sunday school. During his visit, three men backed him into a corner and threatened him. “Look here,” Moody said. “Give a fellow a chance to say his prayers, won’t you?” The men actually allowed him to call out to God, and Moody prayed for them so earnestly that they left the room.
Had I been in Moody’s situation, I might have called for help or looked for the back door. I’m not sure I would have acted on Jesus’ command to His followers: “Pray for those who mistreat you” (Luke 6:28 NIV).
Praying for the people who treat us with contempt is one way to “do good to those who hate [us]” (v.27). Jesus explained that Christians get no credit for swapping acts of kindness with other “nice” people. He said, “Even sinners do the same” (v.33). However, blessing our persecutors (Rom. 12:14) sets us apart from them and aligns us with the Most High, because God is kind even to wicked people (Luke 6:35).
Today, if you feel “cornered” by someone, seek safety if the situation calls for it, and follow Jesus’ teaching: Pray for that person (Luke 23:34). Prayer is your best defense. —Jennifer Benson Schuldt
We want to know Your heart, Lord, and have Your
wisdom to know how to handle opposition.
Give us patience to show kindness.
Guide us, we pray.
Returning good for good is human; returning good for evil is divine.

This was what I received today in my email, of which I subscribe for the daily bread.  When I first read about this, it only reminded me of all the recent kidnaps, slash cases happening to women in KL / PJ.  It was in broad daylight that these people go after single lady victim who was all alone by themselves in shopping mall (a mega ones some more)

It kept me thinking, in any situation of this happens to me, since I work in a mall day in day out.  What other measures should I take to lower the the risk of being targeted.   This message bring me clear defense.  Yes, I should beside asking GOD to protect me, I should also pray that the attacker realize what's in the action, and turn a good leaf!

Heaven is for Real Deluxe Edition A Little Boy's Astounding Story of His Trip to Heaven and Back

Book Description

Deluxe, keepsake edition of the best-selling book and true story of a young boy's visit to heaven after life-saving surgery.
Heaven Is for Real is the true story of the four-year old son of a small town Nebraska pastor who during emergency surgery slips from consciousness and enters heaven. He survives and begins talking about being able to look down and see the doctor operating and his dad praying in the waiting room. The family didn't know what to believe but soon the evidence was clear.
Colton said he met his miscarried sister whom no one had told him about, and his great grandfather who died 30 years before Colton was born, then shared impossible-to-know details about each. He describes the horse that only Jesus could ride, about how "reaaally big" God and his chair are, and how the Holy Spirit "shoots down power" from heaven to help us.
Told by the father but often in Colton's own words, the disarmingly simple message is heaven is a real place, Jesus really loves children, and be ready there is a coming last battle.

My Review

I first read about this book from Rachel, and it seems really interesting to her.  I later found this book in Booksneeze, and I was totally amazed.  I read the 'children' version, and from the illustration of the book, I was sold.  Then now, reading the Deluxe Edition, it brings me even better illustration with the wordings.  The journey of Colton to heaven has greatly boost my faith in Jesus, and of course in trust with Heaven.

It took me a round of 24 hours to complete reading this book, and complete with the review too!  It's good to read, and on top of all the interesting stories told by Colton, there were scriptures references which I can make as and when I am in 'doubt' again.  Also, the end of the book has a list of questions to be 'ask' to ourselves to further instill our faith in GOD.

Beside Colton, it also make me think from the Parent's point of view for both Todd and Sonja.  How will someone react on Colton's situation, and how badly a parent blame him / herself for the careless observation on the health situation.  All thanks to the Mighty that continue to shower HIS love to the family.

The other person that this book expose me to is Akiane.  She has a portrait draw up for Jesus, which the picture was affirm by Colton that it's HIM.  When looking at the picture, it gives me so much 'closer' to HIM, and as if I known him for ages, when I just started to accept him a year ago.

This is definitely a good read, for someone who may have lost faith, or even to reaffirm the faith in Christ.

My Review

As you can tell from the book title, it's a guidelines that one has shared on how to lead a happy life.  Of most of the 'secrets' told, was not secrets anymore, however it's a proof that one has been able to live life out with it, and so do all of us here can do the same.

A few very important 'secrets' that I take it to myself, were like in Part One, Chapter ONE - Honor your Father and Mother.  It's simply put the specification to the 2 most important person in our life, and she does not put the word of general "parents".  Under just the Part One, it already putting a few secrets that we have been neglecting like "Be On Time for Everything".  Guess with the current 'rat race' life, we tend to unable to keep to this.  Like I had said, it take a little of secrets, but the effort has to be put in no matter what.

This book clearly illustrated in short and understanding language, and gives me the impact right to my heart on some 'secrets' which now I may want to make it a point to do it.  One other secret of "Staying Proactive About Your Health" in Part Two has given me the 'hint' that I should start doing something if I want to live life long enough to witness more happenings relating to my Princess.

Part Three is more to strike a balance in life, and of course, one thing most people neglect is that the happening of each day.  As we are in the rat race living, each day is treated almost the same, and since we did not put any notice of the happening.  It's good to notice all the event happening, therefore we will be able to be more alert.

Living a Good Life was the Part Four of this book, and one thing that I ticked off from here is "Cook Something Special For Yourself"!  I always ensure that both myself and Princess will be treated with good meals cook myself, and she will have a fair share of it.

Have you ever hear people saying, you heard but you are not listening!  Yes, in Part Five, it has the secret of "Listening with your whole heart".  I think we should listen more and hearing less.  We should be able to let others have a chance to speak too!

I find this book a good guide, and of course, living with all these secrets are never easy.  It's most like a Saint doing this job but nevertheless, each time when we feel the under the weather, we should be able to come back to this book with the secrets, and again bring our mood back to par.

Meet Fresh @ Pavilion

Since working in Pavilion, I have been 'exposed' to some new shops opening as and when it happen.  So, this week, we have a new opening of Meet Fresh.  This kind of Taiwanese sweet desserts have been sprouting everywhere if you noticed, and today, I finally had a chance to taste this new shop here.

Their Top 10
From my humble opinion, Meet Fresh served less sweeten desserts compared to the rest, and a colleague of mine who had the 'grass jelly' type of desserts claimed it's very smooth, and she even wanted a second helping.  The servings is just nice for my tummy however some colleagues says it's a bit small.  Below is a copy of the price list for your reference.

Price List
The price are almost competitive with the other similar chain, it's mostly depends on each taste buds on which they prefer.  Now, if you are shopping in Pavilion, and thinking of grabbing a dessert, you may consider trying out this new chain at the Level 6 (in front of Ben's).

I hate that.. but do I have a choice?

Sunday was Father's Day!  A day I dislike the most since my dad's departure, and more after the arrival of my Princess!  YES, I don't like this day, and did I just made a mistake attending Sunday School yesterday with Princess?  Oh, I hope I made the right decision, as I have totally forgotten about this day, and all I wanted was for Princess to enjoy her Sunday in church!

Each year Father's Day, I took it to remember my beloved daddy who had spent a good 30 over years with me, and one day in 2005, he just went 'poof' and never come back again.  I didn't manage to bid bye to him, and that has always caused a scar in my heart where now he is placed.  Sunday came, and both myself and Princess prepared to go church, and with all happy mood, it was dampened when the Sunday School teacher went around asking the kids where is the FATHER / DADDY!!  When she asked Princess, I can tell that the girl basically has a blank look, and I signaled to the teacher to skip her instead.  aiyo... why la on earth she make me face this question!!

NVM, we continue the class, and later proceed to do a Father's Day card also!  *note, Princess school also did a Father's Day gift, and I will post the picture later in another post*

After the class, we wanted to go for a haircut, and also lunch.  After all the jalan-jalan, while in the car, I asked Princess..and our conversation went..

Me:  "B, just now teacher asked you where is Daddy, next time you say in my heart, ok?"
B:  No, my daddy is at home
Me:  Oh.. got ah?
B:  Here.. *pointing to her heart*
Me:  Oh... ok, next time you say you are God's child?
B:  No.. my daddy is here *point to the heart* again
In my head thinking.. OK la, at least she didn't persist.. shall wait for the other years to come and I am sure I got lots more to do in this area..

Yes, the bad side so far that I see being one single mother, is how to explain to the child on the father part!  Don't care la.. main hantam if this question pop again.. I am not going to hide whatever the fact is, but of course I won't want to 'stab' her with the cruel fact too.. how difficult is that you may think!

Well.. I believe GOD has it's plan for me, whether this is just a first 'test' he did on how I reacted, and further to educate the point into me.  I pray that Father GOD will lead me to an 'easier' way in tackle this matter.  Or who know, Princess may have a Father in future?

I have been subscribe to Daily Bread via the e-version, and I read it daily.  This morning, I received this in my email..

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. —Luke 11:2
When Jesus taught us to pray, He began, “Our Father in heaven” (Luke 11:2). It is one of many Scriptures that refers to God as a father. I find it both fascinating and instructive that when God wanted us to know what He is like, He chose to emphasize His fatherhood.
What do we know about God as our Father? According to Jesus’ prayer, we know that our Father in heaven is available and attentive to us. It is also clear that He provides for us. He forgives us and protects us from evil (vv.2-4).
What a wonderful pattern for fathers who aren’t in heaven! Granted, there is only one perfect Father in the universe, but as such He sets the pace for the rest of us less-than-perfect fathers. I discovered early in my ministry that my children were not impressed with books I wrote, titles I had, or places I spoke. They craved my time and attention, the provision for basic needs, a love that patiently forgave, and the creation of a safe place for them to grow and mature. It’s a short but very profound list of fatherly duties.
And what about those who didn’t get a dad who met those needs? Take heart in the fact that if you have been redeemed through Jesus you have a perfect heavenly Father—and He’s the best Father of all. —Joe Stowell
Thank You, God, for being our Father, Shepherd,
Guardian, and Guide. We will never outgrow our need
for Your love and care. We want to seek You
with all our heart that we might know You intimately.
The heavenly Father’s arms never tire of holding His children.

Change of Name

no no.. I didn't change my name.. I just changed the blog name...

From the early start, I have this blog name Me.. Me.. Me.. when I was ranting all about my past, and my story.. it's basically a blog for ME! and myself!  After almost a year of having that, and enough of all the rant, I moved the story away from this blog, so I can actually monetize it but not publishing my story all over the web world... and I name it Cynful Pleasure, a name given to me by Cikgu Arthur!  Thanks again Cikgu for the nice name..

Last night, after staring at the blog title for a while.. I decided to make another change of it... adding Journey to Success and this shall marked my step by step move towards that direction.

How can I claim success?

1)  I want a place to live in my OWN place just myself and Princess
2)  I want to have my OWN car (which I finally have one but yet to finish the installment, so it's belong to the bank, and not mine YET)
3)  I hope to get my degree in education completed.  Who knows one day I may attend Uni together with Princess
4)  I wish to have more time in baking, and slowly grow the business and on the day I can offer 'specialise' baking, that's where I want to be
5)  Both myself and Princess are healthy and strong.  No major sickness however allow some tiny minor 'sick' to sip in for a break and rest!
6)  I have more time for GOD and God's work.

I pray, and ask GOD for his provision, that I may one day be where I want to be.  I am leaving all these in GOD's hand, and I only slave through the journey and look forward to see the result in time to come.  I am here inviting and hoping all of you be there to see me reaching the path, and we shall then be JOY!

Fire Alarm.. Evacuate?

We had a fire alarm triggered yesterday afternoon, and thank GOD that I am still alive today writing this post!  When the fire alarm went off, everyone in the office was calm and don't really bothered, till it went on for approx more than 10 seconds, only then we started asking if we should RUN!  However, even with that question had in everyone's head, no one bothers to RUN!  I suddenly had this 'picture' in my head...

"What if the alarm was real at that time, and it's not a false one"?

"What is going to happen to my Princess if I am burnt to death in the building?"

"Will my family take care of Princess for me since I don't really left a lot of $$ behind"?

"How is my mum taking it if I am dead earlier than her"?

"Will my family member recognise my 'chared' body and claim me for funeral"?

My heart sank now when I typed this post.. my tiny hairs are standing with so much fear of what happen and all the what if...

Are we really prepared to leave our family member behind due to accident?

When I heard the announcement that the alarm was indeed a false alarm, I was relieved but no fully.. I am still fear for my life, and was hoping to get the lift in order by 6pm or I will have to walk down the stairs!!  It's no fun to walk down 17 stories of stairs!!

On the other hand, I find that we were very confident in the first place that the alarm was false since no one was RUNNING for life!  We have so much confident that nothing would happen in our life, and we always take it for granted that it is NOT happening! and till the end, when it really happened, we have all the life we have to regret it!

We may even have faith and trust to the Almighty that we are not the chosen ones to be back with HIM!

How often do you run when you hear a fire alarm?

Annual Leave

Today, I have a question popping in my head... Annual Leave..

1)  What is your Company annual leave allocation?  I was once worked in a Company that gives me 16 days for a start, and once only 8 days... see the difference?  LOL

2)  How many days in advance do you apply your leave?  a week?  3 days? or 24 hours?

Why I suddenly pop this question?  I don't know.. I just look at my recent payslip and feel the pathetic number of leaves I have to use... sad.. sad.. most of my leaves were used to care for the sick Princess, and some to cater for the festive and holiday season.. I am hoping to see the accumulated leaves go beyond 10 days and I can go long holiday!!

Another 'leave' which I recently 'expose' to is call the "Emergency Leave" which forms part of the Annual Leave.  Guess this leave was introduced to cater for the 'emergency' however can one exploit this kind of leave?  Can someone who fear that their 'plan' leave may not be approved, and decided to jump the gun and take 'emergency' instead?  What is the implication of the emergency leave should it is not approved?  It keep me wonder... What is the timeline should one leave be called 'emergency'?

I guess when I start to age, and getting more 'personal' stuff to do, annual leave seems to be an important factor of consideration for jobs.  I don't mind being paid lower for additional days of leave provided.  I do missed those days when I got 21 days annual leave to spend (however at that time, I got no one to spend it with).  How ironical!

Since I just started working, guess the annual leave thing will only accumulate to what I want in 5 years time which includes I do not take any 'emergency leave' and keep those limited days for future use.  In addition, we shall also have the provision by the Company for me to carry forward my leaves!  hehehe...

Herbs & Spices, Sri Petaling

I read a few review of this makan place, which is near my house and I was attracted that they served Nasi Dagang with Ikan Tongkol! Last week, I decided to ask my brother along and we went to have our dinner there.  When I entered the shop, after checking out the menu, I of course ordered my 'wanted list' and my brother ordered his share too!  On top of that, we ordered a side dish to share.

The shop name

Nasi Dagang with Ikan Tongko

Prawn Fritters

Hainan Chicken Chop

Princess says it's Yummy!
Both my brother and I were satisfied with the food served.  Nothing to shout about the Hainan Chicken Chop as my brother is comparing it with Yut Kee's... But the Nasi Dagang is very fragrant with coconut milk, and the curry is also yummy!  I will surely come back again for Nasi Dagang!  The prawn fritters were good too!  Princess most happy when she saw those thick, yummy french fries!

The restaurant worker was very considerate that they separated my gravy of my nasi dagang knowing that it's for Princess to share.  But they didn't know that my Princess love CURRY!  hehehe...

Next time shall you have no idea of what to eat, you may consider this shop;

McD Fillet O Fish

Warning:  *This post is to jot down how I feel as a consumer, and represent my own opinion only*

I had a few occasions having McD Fillet O Fish, and each time when I opened the burger to top my sauce and french fries, I got depressed when I found this

ONLY half a slice of cheddar cheese!!  I used to have 1 full slice of the cheese!!

Look at how tempting is the illustrated photo!
This is how I usually eats my Fillet.. top up with sauce and french fries.. but see.. another 'half' piece of cheese..

I know it's always having the 'line' saying 'Pictures of food are for illustration purposes only.  Actual display may differ'.. but not up to this extend right?  I always remember having to ngap a very yummy Fillet, and even while I was in Singapore, I even had the Double Fillet when Malaysia has not offered that!  And guess what, Fillet is ONLY one of the 'usual' stuff I order if I ate in McD, and yet, it's so depressing seeing this.

When I first saw this, I thought it could be the kitchen's fault of for 'cheating' me the half slice of the cheese, unfortunately, this seems to happen the 2nd, 3rd and the rest of the time till I cannot tahan but got to snap a photo of it!  I guess the 'promotion' was to have a lower price and a smaller portion? then what's the promotion for?  hmmm...

Guess for now, I got to make lesser trip to McD to avoid further disappointment or next time, should I just bring a slice of cheese of my own?  ;p
