Disney Junior’s ‘Pirate and Princess: Power of Doing Good’ campaign aims to introduce kids aged 2-7 to the idea and values of - caring for nature, animals, and helping others. The campaign will aim to empower preschoolers to participate in acts of service encouraged by parents and supported by the community.

Parents will need to download fun activity sheets from the website www.disneyjuniorpowerofdoinggood.com

Activities are themed around four key areas - Community, Animals, Nature and Storytelling. Online badges and certificates are simple rewards to encourage kids to complete all activity sheets and learn the ethos of doing good. In addition, there will be opportunities for kids and families to create “power promises” online- a simple promise to do something good for the world they live in.

“Through the power of our stories and characters we not only inspire kids to imagine a better world but also help them to realize, through simple acts of caring for their surroundings and their community, that they have the potential to make a positive change in the world they live in. The Power of Doing Good campaign on Disney Junior empowers kids and families with information and opportunities to engage with their friends, families and communities to make a positive impact on the world around them. We are grateful to our partners WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature), SPCA Singapore and Selangor, and Singapore Environment Council for their support,” said Natasha Malhotra, General Manager, Branded Media and Content, The Walt Disney Company Southeast Asia.

"WWF is happy to support Disney Junior's Power of Doing Good campaign. Children need to learn from a young age to be aware and care for the environment, the animals and society. This will go a long way in growing a generation who takes responsibility in shaping a healthy planet,” said Elaine Tan, CEO, WWF Singapore.

Popular Disney Junior characters Jake (from Jake and the Never Land Pirates) and Sofia (from Sofia the First) will take the kids on a journey of personal empowerment through the ‘Power of doing good’ campaign.

I've sign up an account for princess, however for now, she will not be with me.  I've told her to keep her promises, and let me know when she is back from her sleepover.  She must have a lot of fun during this holiday, and also able to Do GOOD!  With all the promises she has made, it will motivates her to keep it!

Princess also recorded some of the cartoon series which collaborates with this theme.  You may visit HERE for the special shows on Disney Junior!

So parents, don't wait further!  Let's start teaching our kids DOING GOOD!

Letzhop Sesame Street English

Princess attended Letzhop Sesame Street English Workshop just last Saturday. She had a lot of fun time, and after speaking with the principal, I guess this method works for her. It's fun, play and learn!

The Workshop has a themed topic each time, last Saturday was on book!  Per say the principal, you must be wondering what English got to do with learning the word BOOK!  Well, you be surprise. Princess can now tell where the title, page, sentences, words, punctuation marks and all!  The programme is also a repetitive process, and the dear girl came home reciting the Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See book!!

In addition, she also has a chance to lay her hands on the art and craft related to the BOOK.  She did a brown bear, red bird and yellow duck in class, and demanding me to get her paint so she could finish the rest of the pages (talking about this, I have not got time to go find paint)!!

I had a chance to speak to the principal after the workshop, and what amazes me is that they have classes up to 12 years old! I was sceptical in the beginning thinking how can one make a 12 years old sit through a class of ENGLISH! Kids nowadays... BUT the principal assured me that the programme is so interesting that even a 12 years old will enjoy! So, not too late to send your kids if you want them to learn English!

The centre is filled with Sesame Street decorations, with printed wall paper, flashcards, workbooks, folders and even soft toys!!  It's bright and colourful in there!  The teachers or guidance are all very patience (I saw it with my own eyes how they try 'guiding' a boy who refuses to enter class). Oh my, it's really a lot of patience for that!

In order to keep the child focus, and also keeping up-to-date, the centre also uses interactive videos and games on the touch panel.  Princess had fun playing with that too!

In addition, the centre also has classes for Special Need Child!

I'm truly amaze with the love of teaching by the principal, and she demonstrated her much love towards the kids. I will continue the classes if not for the distance to drive there.  No worries, there are also 6 branches located in Malaysia, including Damansara Uptown, Shah Alam, Selayang, Klang, Bandar Baru Bangi and Bukit Jalil. If you are keen to know more about the centre and Sesame Street English, you may view the LETZHOP Booklet available HERE.

Last but not the least, looks who appear at the end of the class!
